Basic Idealogy for Dota

Dota is a game like no other. It involes skills that are usually diversified throughout our busy daily lives. Here are the main points that all dota players should follow:

1) Confidence. If you arent sure for a split second what you wanna do or how your gonna do it, then your going to fail. Always be sure of what your doing, and do it with a passion. Really get enthusiastic about the game. I usually scream and yell whenever I play because of the intensity that I play with. Always remember to be confident, but not arrogant.

2) Intelligence. Be quick to do what your gonna do. Don't be one of those guys in team battles who just stands there waiting to clean up kills. Be smart in what you do such as watch the minimap constantly (a common nub error), and think in advance what is about to happen. Don't go running into battles, always remember what heros are on your team, and what heros are on the other team. Furthormore, remember to always calculate whether or not you will win the team battles.

3) Perserverence. Giving up is the easiest way to lose a game. Don't leave games just because you didnt get fb ( first blood), always fight to win. If someone on your team leaves, keep playing, it will only get you better.

4) Innovate and Explore. MAKE SURE YOU PLAY EVERY HERO ATLEAST THREE TIMES BEFORE PICKING FAVORITES. I see people who pick the same hero every game just cause they did good once with'em. Learn to play every hero so that you know what the would do in certain situations. Also, try something new each game, whether it be a new item build or a new skill build, it doesn't matter. It will only let you see the game in different ways, allowing you to gain experience in gameplay.

Here's a neat item map I found that could go useful on your wall... http://www.freakygaming.com/gallery/concept_art/dota_allstars/6_40_item_chart

The same dude also came up with a pretty good intro to the game. Don't listen to his tactics though...http://warcraft.freakygaming.com/pc/strategy/warcraft3-frozen_throne/maps/dota_allstars.html
